When COVID-19 resulted in a complete shutdown of the cruise ship industry, Stand.Earth saw an opportunity to call attention to the devastating impact cruise ships have had on our oceans. We took a cartoonishly dark approach to this video, creating an old-timey cruise ship character that starts the video looking shiny and new, but rapidly degrades as destruction and pollution are left in its wake. The video was shared by Stand.Earth on social media and the video received high rates of engagement and shares, accruing nearly 300,000 views on Facebook alone.
