Back To School

ART DESIGN / Storyboard Artist / LEAD ANIMATOR

When BC schools began again in September of 2020, there was a pervasive and understandable sense of fear and trepidation among families. While their children’s education was important, the threat of the pandemic was everywhere and people had questions around how schools would cope. The BC Government reached out to us for a campaign that would outline the safety precautions schools were taking and serve to reassure concerned parents.

Using a chalk-inspired aesthetic and a combination of 3D and classic frame-by-frame animation techniques, we created a series of macro shots focusing on hands and feet to tell the story of kids preparing for school. The video ran for BC residents during primetime television and hockey games, and the video’s art direction was so well received by the client that they continued using it for their own, internally-produced design materials.
